Ice Road Truckers (IRT) is an American reality television series that features the activities of drivers who operate trucks on seasonal routes crossing frozen lakes and rivers, in remote Arctic territories in Canada and Alaska.
Prepare your truck as we enter the winter season. Backgammon Land Tournament players have to move a series of sometimes dangerous and heavy materials across frozen expanses of ice and terrain in order to save money on air freight. Besides air freight the only winter alternative are ice roads where you have to drive over frozen bodies of water that could be rivers, lakes or even seas.

The first ice roads were constructed in Northern Canada in the 1930’s for use by caterpillar sleds pulling heavy loads for mines. These loads were too heavy to move by aircraft and the soil too soft for standard roads that were not frozen. Winter roads and ice roads are primarily found in northern parts of some provinces and in sparsely-populated nother territories of Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. In Nunavut, even though there are permanent roads the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winer Road is the territory’s only road access to the remainder of North America’s road network. Winter roads in these regions are the only access for isolated communities and mineral exploration sites to the territory’s highway network. In other words, without winter roads many communities in the northern Canada could not exist.

72 hrs to play each round.

Players 30 minutes or later who do not notify opponent prior to match will receive a one-point penalty. A new match time must be scheduled immediately. Players who are 30 minutes a second time will forfeit the match.
